Kate Marks
College Advisor
Kate Marks has successfully assisted students and their families for over two decades as a school counselor.
Starting in 2004, she spent three years at Huntington Park High School in East Los Angeles, where she worked closely with families to help students navigate a path toward graduation and post high school life. Kate pioneered both boys and girls lacrosse teams, was the Assistant Cross-Country Coach, and was also a sponsor of the California Scholarship Federation and the U.C. Berkeley Educator’s Incentive Awards Pre-Collegiate Academy.
Kate then worked at Beverly Hills High School for eleven years as a school counselor/college counselor where she was involved with college and career advising, participated in counselor fly-in programs to visit universities, and attended regional and national seminars for professional development. Currently Kate works as a school counselor at Tappan Zee High School in NY.
Kate’s comprehensive approach to the individual and the school selection process has helped her students find the right fit. She connects with students and their families, and works with them to reach their full potential. Kate is a certified school counselor with an MS from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., holding a permanent Pupil Personnel Certificate and a Certificate in College Counseling from the University of California, Los Angeles. Kate received her undergraduate degree from American University in Washington, D.C., where she was an NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse team member.
