Nick Everdell
Graduate School Advisor
Nick served as Director of Recruitment at Yale Law School and Associate Director of Admissions at Columbia Law School, and has read close to 15,000 graduate school applications. He knows a good application when he sees one, and has first hand knowledge about what admissions officers look for when building an incoming class.
Nick acts as a trusted voice to help clients wade through all of the inaccurate information on the internet and set them on the right path. In addition to his guidance in putting together the actual applications, he advises on course selection, summer and post-graduate employment, long-term plans, and extracurricular activities. His favorite part of the process is making a match between a student and a school, which he has done with great success during his years at Steinbrecher.
The son of boarding school teachers, Nick is a graduate of the Lawrenceville School and holds a BA from Cornell University, where he majored in Russian. He got his start working in admissions at Vermont Academy and then went on to earn an MA from the Klingenstein Program at Teachers College, Columbia University, which focuses on developing leaders in independent education.
Best Advice: “Worry less about what schools want to see and more about what you want to show them.”
